Thrayle House completes following Rund’s successful contribution as Clerk of Works
Rund Partnership joins long-term client, Network Homes, in celebrating the completion of Thrayle House – a mixed tenure residential development based in one of South London’s liveliest districts.
Thrayle House, situated in Brixton, comprises 177 units split between private sale and social rent, plus a proportion of housing designed for senior living. The development also features an underground car park and outdoor communal space.
As dedicated Clerk of Works, Rund was involved in inspecting and ensuring the quality of works on site from start to finish. Spending a significant time on site as the “eyes and ears” for Network Homes, our role centred around checking that specifications were correctly delivered to the highest quality and in line with the agreed programme.
Andrea Rhoden, Finishing and Quality Surveyor at Rund Partnership said: “Our central focus has always been to deliver quality in construction, so we are extremely proud to see another project successfully complete and meet such high-quality standards. Thrayle House’s prime location is a key selling point, so it needed to deliver on quality to provide a highly desirable living environment for years to come.”
With our dedicated fire stopping Clerk of Works, we undertook a thorough review of the construction programme. Our initial review identified the requirement for additional smoke detection in voids, and by noting in the drawing review stages, meant that installations could be incorporated within the construction process – avoiding significant costs and delays.
Our Clerk of Works expertise in Mechanical & Electrical commissioning, installation and testing was crucial for ensuring different specifications for the mixture tenure units were delivered. Using in-house expertise gained from previously working in similar trade roles, we were able to provide thorough recommendations on specific requirements such as underfloor heating and air conditioning units.
Paul Haines, Construction and Regeneration Director at Network Homes said: “Rund has continued providing the best value service throughout our 8-year working relationship. The team’s Clerk of Works expertise was fundamental at Thrayle House, and we’re delighted to see the resulting development demonstrate their high-quality offering once again.”
Thrayle House forms part of Brixton’s ongoing redevelopment and is part of Network Homes’ wider work and investment in the area, including the regeneration of Stockwell Park and recently, Tyler House.
