Rund appointed as Employer’s Agent to help Brent Council and St George, a proud member of the Berkeley Group, deliver affordable homes in Phase One at Grand Union

Rund is working with Brent Council and St George to create a vibrant new canal-side neighbourhood in northwest London, currently in its first phase of development.

Grand Union, located in Alperton, will deliver 3,030 new homes as part of a six-phase development with Rund providing Employer’s Agent services across Phase One. This will involve the creation of 115 affordable homes, split between affordable rented and shared ownership tenure.

Brent Council has invested in Rund’s comprehensive services to manage successful delivery of Phase One from start to finish. Rund’s extensive scope of work includes high-quality contract administration and monitoring of costs, site quality and progress.

David Drew, Associate Director at Rund commented: “Grand Union’s highly desirable location and on-site amenities are key selling points for the capital’s future renters and homeowners. Our many years of experience working on affordable housing developments will help ensure all specifications are met and the project is successfully completed to the highest quality standards, within budget and on programme – thereby maintaining project viability.”

Grand Union will be a thriving community in a highly desirable location. The development will feature a new Twisty Tails nursery, medical centre, community centre and Co-op convenience store as well as a Canalside Piazza offering cafes, bars, and restaurants. Grand Union also benefits from excellent transport links into central London from nearby Stonebridge Park Station, as well as 11 acres of landscaped gardens, riverside meadows, and waterside pathways.

Cllr Shama Tatler, Brent Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Property and Planning, said: “This regeneration project is going to breathe new life into what was a worn-out and redundant site and bring much needed new homes, job opportunities and improvements to the public realm. I’m therefore delighted to see Phase One progressing at Grand Union, which forms part of our commitment to create a total of 1,050 affordable homes on-site.”
