Revamped Stockwell Hall of Fame Reopens

Network Homes has recently reopened the revamped ‘world famous graffiti pen’ on the Stockwell Park Estate. The graffiti pen, named ‘Stockwell Hall of Fame’ is known internationally as one of the few places which allow people to legally paint graffiti.

The works to the pen have included improving the floor surface, drainage and adding a new internal podium which can be used as a backdrop to show films. The area also provides a new sports court for basketball and football and is designed to be multi-use and especially welcoming to children.

Helen Evans, Network Homes’ Chief Executive shares “Transforming Stockwell Park is much more than refurbishing homes and building new housing. It’s about creating communities that people are proud of and want to live in. We want the Hall of Fame to be a space where people can be creative in a free and informal way. Equally, we want a facility that the local community feel comfortable in their local neighbourhood.”

Rund is appointed as Clerk of Works and has been working closely with Network Homes, on the wider £200 million regeneration scheme which sees the transformation of the Stockwell Park Estate. Works on the estate include the regeneration of Tyler House which includes an additional floor of new build apartments built on top of the existing building; the demolition and new build of Thrayle House and the extensive works to the Community Centre which is a key part of the development, providing support to the local residents offering use of computers, classes, free meals and pool tables. The new build units are mixed tenure including extra care, private and affordable.

Rund looks forward to its continual role on this development, helping to improve the lives of residents on the Stockwell Estate.
