Network Homes is investing £175 million in the regeneration of Stockwell Park Estate, which includes the refurbishment of Tyler House. Our clerk of works are overseeing these works to ensure high-quality standards are delivered. In addition, they are also undertaking regular mechanical and electrical and fire stopping inspections.
Tyler House is an existing block of 48 flats and a total refurbishment of the block and existing accommodation is being undertaken as part of Network Homes’ regeneration promise under their stock transfer agreement with the London Borough of Lambeth. In an innovative approach creating more homes, new flats are being built on top of Tyler House as a fourth-floor extension with corner duplex to provide 13 additional shared ownership units.
The refurbishment of the block includes improvements to gas, water, communications and electricity supplies; new windows and communal spaces; an insulated render system to the façade, covered bike stores plus cycle stands, refuse/recycling storage and new play area and landscaping. These upgrades are giving Tyler House a new lease of life and delivering higher quality homes for residents.
The site presents various challenges, including some residents remaining in occupation whilst the works are carried out. A careful decanting programme is in place to ensure residents move into their newly refurbished homes as the works progress.
