Opened in 1929, Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre is a Grade II Listed building and a neo-classical design icon that retains many of its original features. To preserve these features for future generations to enjoy, Rund Partnership were recently appointed as designer and contract administrator in the latest phase of works to this Bournemouth landmark.
The works involve a number of important repairs and upgrade works to the building facades, including stonework repairs and cleaning, repairs and relining of original cast iron gutters, repairs to soffits and fascias and redecoration of windows and doors to the southern end of the building. This latest appointment continues Rund Partnership’s involvement with improving, modernising and conserving the Pavilion Theatre. The Rund team have previously been involved in the creation of the Pavilion Dance Centre, a 200 seat auditorium with professional dance and community studios and backstage facilities. Our team have also managed refurbishment works to bring back into use existing, redundant rooms within the west terrace of the Pavilion to create a new Drama Centre for the Arts University Bournemouth.
