The Guinness Partnership has appointed Rund Partnership’s Clerk of Works services on its Leaside Lock scheme in Bromley-by-Bow.
The project will see the development of 500 mixed tenure homes, and the creation of a community centre, commercial areas and retail spaces.
The Guinness Partnership appointed Rund after recognising our high level of expertise as Clerk of Works at Thrayle House in Brixton, for another Housing Provider. The complexities overcome at Thrayle House and the high standards of quality in construction that The Guinness Partnership is seeking to achieve in East London all pointed to Rund Partnership being the most suitable Clerk of Works for Leaside Lock.
As well as monitoring quality, construction, compliance and progression of the works on Leaside Lock, our remit is extended to cover fire-stopping inspections and mechanical and electrical inspections.
Leaside Lock forms part of a broader regeneration project, as it sits in the heart of the Greater London Authorities’ Lower Lea Valley (including Stratford) Opportunity Area. The framework, introduced in 2007, aims to enrich the Lower Lea Valley area with significant infrastructure investment. This includes the construction of new schools, expansion of existing educational and healthcare facilities and enhanced access to the area.
The development of Leaside Lock’s vibrant neighbourhood will contribute to the Opportunity Area’s overall target of creating a minimum of 32,000 homes and 50,000 jobs – ultimately, delivering a highly desirable living and working environment.
