Rund Partnership is appointed as Joint Venture Monitor and Quantity Surveyor on the redevelopment of a Hertford Fire & Rescue Service site. The project will deliver a new fire station and high-quality residential accommodation.
We are appointed by Chalkdene Developments, a 50-50 joint venture between Morgan Sindall Investments and the Hertfordshire county council’s property company, Herts Living Ltd. Chalkdene Developments is developing vital new homes on underutilised and surplus sites. The partnership is initially focused on 12 locations, with the capacity to deliver over 500 properties, providing much-needed homes across the county.
Chalkdene Developments has appointed Rund as a dedicated independent Joint Venture Monitor, with our scope of work covering management of multiple risk assessment factors, including quality control, financial and technical review.
The existing fire station is formed of a five-storey block, and a series of single and one and a half storey buildings to the rear arranged around a large drill yard. The site is being redeveloped to provide an operational fire station, an ambulance base and a residential development area of 0.374ha and further apartments built-over the fire station. In addition to providing quality affordable homes, the development will provide a drill yard, training tower, undercroft car parking and bicycle storage.
