Rund Partnership has been appointed as Employer’s Agent to act on behalf of Origin Housing in overseeing the demolition of an existing car wash and development of a 7-storey building comprising 31 apartments and retail unit. The development comprises a mix of 5 affordable rented units, 6 shared ownership properties and 20 units for private ownership.
We undertook a competitive tender process and robust tender analysis / reporting procedure, prior to procurement of the works under a JCT Design & Building Contract 2011.
The development involved a complex site, formerly used as a petrol-filling station. We oversaw extensive ground investigations in order to establish conditions, mitigate risk and subsequent remediation of the site.
To mitigate construction costs and maximise return on investment on this challenging site, our Chartered Quantity Surveyors worked in collaboration with the design team and contractor to identify value engineering solutions.
